RecDay Guest Guidelines

As part of the RecDay community, guests are required to follow the following guidelines: Treat the host’s space with respect and follow the host’s house rules.

Rule #1: Respect Host Spaces

First and foremost, guests are expected to respect host spaces. This includes (among others) three core considerations.

Cleanliness

Treat the host’s space as you would your own. This includes home fixtures, flooring, doors, walls, and structural elements as well as equipment, technology, hitting mats, court surfaces, and other elements of the space.

Garbage

Guests are expected to dispose of trash/litter in appropriate receptacles and be mindful of leaving excessive trash in or around host spaces.

Damage

Should a guest cause or contribute to damage beyond normal wear and tear within a host space, the expectation is that guests inform the host of the damage/issue as soon as possible. From there, the host and guest should work together to find a reasonable solution. Guests are expected to reimburse hosts for damage and pay reasonable requests for reimbursement if they are responsible for damage, missing items, or unexpected cleaning/repair costs.

Rule #2: Follow House Rules

When using a RecDay space, guests are expected to follow the host’s house rules at all times. This includes but is not limited to the following considerations. Note that hosts can also have their own specific house rules for their listing, in addition to these ground rules.

Approved Guests

Guests are expected to respect the host’s approved number of guests. If a guest is unsure about the host’s rules for visitors, the guest should ask the host directly for clarification. Disruptive gatherings are always prohibited at RecDay spaces.

Reservation Start Time

Guests are expected to arrive promptly at their reservation’s booked start time. Hosts are expected to provide prompt access to the space at that time.

Reservation End Time

Guests are expected to exit the property at the reservation’s booked end time.

Smoking

Guests should not smoke (tobacco, cannabis, e-cigarettes, et cetera) inside a listing unless they are allowed to do so by the host.

Noise

Guests should be mindful of noise and especially respectful of specified quiet hours so as not to disturb others.

Commercial Film/Photography

Guests must have documented permission from the host to capture film or photography intended for commercial use or profit at a RecDay space.

Resolving Issues

Hosts are encouraged to communicate directly with a guest regarding a violation or issue related to the above ground rules and/or the host’s explicitly stated house rules. This is often the easiest and fastest way to resolve an issue. Both guests and hosts are expected to communicate promptly, respectfully, and with the goal of reaching an amicable resolution.

Reporting Issues

Should an issue with a guest occur, hosts are advised to take steps to document the issue (e.g. through RecDay messaging thread communications and photos). Hosts are also encouraged to leave an honest review with feedback for the guest, so the guest can improve their practices.

Guest Accountability

The RecDay Trust & Safety team is committed to ensuring guests are held to these outlined guidelines so both guests and hosts enjoy a seamless and pleasant experience. Following a violation or suspected violation by a guest or regarding a reservation, hosts are expected to attempt to work directly with the guest to solve the issue. If unsuccessful, hosts can report issues through the proper RecDay channels. From there, one or multiple courses of action may be taken by the RecDay team, including educating the guest about policies and issuing warnings. If violations are severe or repeated, guests may also be suspended or banned from the platform and community.

Guest Appeals

Guests may appeal decisions made by the RecDay Trust & Safety Team following a reported violation. In reviewing appeals, we consider additional details the guest provides related to the reported violation and reevaluate the information with diligence.
